Carpe Diem

Ok, so let's ditch the emo confessions for a minute, and tell us all how you have embodied the philosophy of carpe diem. How are you going to change yourself and improve your life? Go for it...I dare you.

I've decided to ignore all the negative people in my life and do what is best for me. I realized, after years of emotional abuse, it is time for me to let go of all those people who have brought me down over the years and live for me and no one else. I need to do what makes ME happy and not waht makes others happy.

right on! its harder to do than to say, but i think if we all could do what you say you are going to, the world would be a much happier, healthier place. good for you!

A slow beginning but it has to start somewhere I guess.

I had an amazing epiphany in my life beginning about 2 years ago which lasted about a year and now life is amazing. I went from living a life of depression and negative behavior to now living a positive life and are strong as an individual.

You don't have to suffer, you too can be happy, completly happy and go somewhere in life.

I have been clean for months and months now. I dont "party" anymore, I dont even hang out with the same people. I have discovered the meaning of living life and are loving it.

Recommendation for those who deep inside think they want to do good and aren't really happy with the life they lead: First, research the meaning of truth and theories on it. Research the lie that is the media. I do not entirely recommend the Zeitgeist movie (zeitgeistthemovie.com) but it will for the first time in your life expose the truth to you, do not take its claims to heart but understand that there is some truth behind it. Understand that life is about dharma, or purpose, and that getting educated is the first step. "They must find it difficult, those who take authority as truth instead as truth as the supreme authority." Truly understand and live by this and you will be a large step closer to an amazing life.
The most essential part of life is love. Love for yourself, for those around you, for life, your world, everything. As of this point, nothing else matters but your happiness and the happiness of those around you.

DO NOT FOLLOW the crowd, if you wonder how a song like oh say, "laffy taffy" or "chicken noddle soup" can be so famous? Its because people have become so ignorant, so dumb, that the corporate world uses this to its advantage to make money off of you. Hip Hop died, you wanna know how? People got dumb, corporations began to sell whatever people would buy into (which is usually sex and hate) and hip hop was crowded out and died as a result. We are not animals, why must life be about hate and sex, the two most primative emotions that we feel. When all we do is fight and screw, we have become animals. Self-indulgence(quick, mindless pleasure) is the number one problem in the world today. Why do we have war? because of greedy people bent on self-indulging. Why does a book not get read while the new lil wayne video gets 5 million views a day? because we are bent on self-indulgence, in seing the cool graphics and big booties, primative behavior.

Some might argue that this is not true, that it really is entertaining. Well the next time you buy into gangster rap think about all the new people infected with hate, all the new deaths that emerge from this, all the new depression that is created, all the new crime, all the new suffering. We don't have to suffer but we bring it upon ourselves. Do not be involved in negative, positive is where its at. If you don't get involved in negative, positive will only flow your way.

I have not watched MTV for at least 2 years. my life is awesome. I dont feel insicure because everybody is singing some new song and i dont know the lyrics. I dont feel bad that i dont have the new shoe that everybody is wearing. I dont feel bad that i cant dance the new dance. You cant give power to MTV, it ruins individuality by influencing everybody to do the same thing and do as they do. But MTV is where all the "kool" stuff is at right? That's because that is what sells, that's how they get you to watch it, because MTV needs you! they need you to watch it so that it can make money off of you. and how do you get the most people to watch it? by influencing them that they want to be just like everybody else, just like what they show, that they want to be hardcore gangster because 50 cent is. Did you know that akon grew up in the suburbs and that all he said about doing time and being a "convict" is made up? seriously, read the papers. So then why did he make it up? Because the animals that are the audiences buy into self indulgence(hate, sex, quick mindless pleasure that doesnt last) and will listen to his music. You like being lied to? I don't. The media will lie in any way that they have to, to get you interesting on spending money on them.
Stop hating because its the thing to do, stop with conformity, stop the suffering, lets love each other and be happy. Imagine that all the bad stuff in the world suddenly disappeared. You could walk around and feel loved by the world and be completly at peace, no racism, no fighting, all love, unity. that would be amazing. and amazing, that world, can be achieved, but the change must start today, so seize the day!

I could talk for days and days about life and how to be happy but I doubt anybody will read the above as it is, so request, if any, let me know by simply posting a request.

Peace and love everybody.
If this is approved, thanks ms Velin)

Carpe Diem, Seize the day, the change begins today!

Some of my carpe diem quotes that really helped me to become a better person (just some off the top of my head):

I wrote this on my hand for months: "Don't sweat the technique"
means relax, stop worrying so much, live life for all those who are afraid.

"They must find it difficult, those who take authority as truth instead of truth as the supreme authority." means to explore things for yourself, i bet if you begin to dig, you'll see that not everything is as it seems, don't believe what the media says.

"In order to love, you must love yourself first."

"Question everything."

"things such as drinking and drugs are harmful to you, it is destructive behavior, its like killing yourself in an indirect manner. You drink and get high for fun? NO. You drink and get high because you want to hurt yourself because you are not happy."

"All he ever asks for is that you try your best, nobody would ever ask any more of you"

"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you"

"Find the beauty in simplicity"

"The mind needs purpose and direction"

"What will truly make you happy is love. What is love? Love is not with the person who will simply have sex with you. Love between a couple is a relationship where theyre happiness becomes your priority because theyre happiness is yours"

"If you know youre right, it doesnt matter what they say"

"people tease you because they are projecting their insicurites on you, if they make fun of you, they feel better about themselves, your pain is their pleasure. If you dont let it hurt you, then they dont feel pleasure. You wanna pleasure your enemies? Let their words hurt you."

"You can't control what happens, what you can control is how you react to it"

"It doesnt matter where you come from, what matters is where you are going"

"Life is full of second chances"

"You matter, you are supposed to be here, if you werent supposed to be here, you would have never been created, fate would have stepped in."

I love the quote I have for the carpe diem unit:

"Some people drift though their entire life. They do it one day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time. It happens so gradually they are unaware of how their lives are slipping away until it's too late."
-Mary Kay Ash

the world has been around for ages and ages,
if it was possible make a "happy, loving" world i think it would have already been accomplished,
but it hasnt, its not possible
not that im a pessimist, im just a realist and the reality is that its not going to happen
but i do believe in making your life as full as you possibly can and i do think that we should seize the day and stop worrying.
all it does is send you in circles just like the what ifs

to the realist

yeah, I see what youre saying. Thats the probability as things are but what I said is a possibility. See because the world has been around for ages and ages and never, as far as we know, has such a world been established. But see if you want to speak in those terms then all the corners have to be covered. Human species is believed to have begun about 2.5 million years ago but Homo Sapiens have only been around about 250,000 years. Mesopotamia existed about 7,300 years ago. Which means it took humans 242,700 to begin civilization. Talk about slow right? Alright well if you look at history what stands out the most is how primative people use to act. Like slavery, like the European witch hunts, all kinds of things, thats the best that people knew. So you see we keep evolving as humans from 2.5 million years ago, to 250,000 years ago when homo sapiens came about, to civilization arising 7,300 years ago, to democracy taking hold a few hundred years ago, to the emancipation proclamation freeing the slaves in 1863, to woman sufferage in 1920. Don't you see we have the ability to keep moving forward, its in our nature. A loving world, yeah that doesnt seem likely, but its possible, see thats exactly what they used to say about democracy 500 years ago, about freedom 400 years ago, about independance 300 years ago, about freedom for african americans 200 years ago, women sufferage 100 years ago.

So yeah, its definately a possibility. And yeah there are millions and billions of reasons why it wont happen but there are just as many why it can.

So I recently came back from Girls State and I learned a lot. I am fine with who I am now and Unfortunately (to most) I am going to grow up! I know, I know its so sad but the whole time at Girls State I kept on saying Carpe Diem and I now just realized what that meant to me and I am OK with the fact that most people wont like me after high school but you know what... it doesn't matter anymore because after this last year of high school I'm gone and whatever happens now I wont have to deal with later on down the road.

I am trying to be consciously happy exactly where I am instead of allowing myself to always be disatisfied.
