Ok, so tomorrow most of you are gonna graduate. What now? What are you excited about? Fearful of? Ready for? What are your plans? If you read this, please, please post something. We all want to know and stay connected, and I think this is the only way.
Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS! You DID it!

i love you mrs. velin!
i'm gonna miss you like crazy!
you kept me focused, whether it be inspiring me, or scaring me to death tell me that i was failing. hahahah
we had some great times, maybe when you look back at "V for Velin" you'll spot me out and be like, " I can't believe I didn't see her before!" I wish you happiness and prosperity in whatever you decide to do in life, whether it be teaching, or taking a year off and just write. Either way, I know you'll work wonders. I love you girlll!
Carpe Diem!
Love always, Jewel Steele

Someone posted a question about the books now that school is out. Somehow I erased it before I could post it, so whoever that was, post your address (with or without your name...doesn't matter) and someone may, mysteriously, send you one.
Jewels,
I love you too! Thank you so much for your kind words...you are loved and missed as well. Keep in touch, ok?

hey ms velin.
thanks for everything. you were one of my favorite teachers in school. your speeches about carpe diem and living life to its fullest were so inspiring. but now im out of high school.....and i feel lost. i thought i knew what i wanted to do with my life after high school but im soo confused now. i have no job. i have not decided what school to go to. i've basically turned into the housewife since my mom started working. all i do is clean. and i dont want to waste anymore time. do you know of any good film schools?
edwin r.
from 3rd period

Edwin,
Don't despair! You are not alone. Almost no one knows what they want to do right out of high school; that's why there is college! You will find your way. Just don't wait to long to make a move. Like I've told you before, you can always decide that what you try is not for you, but if you never try, you don't get the option to decide. Just get out there and DO SOMETHING. It may turn out to not be what you want, but at least you are figuring it out, instead of dusting and washing dishes all day!
UCLA has a great film school. Perhaps you can jump into a community college ASAP for the fall and in two years transfer. The only thing that is limiting what you can do in life is you. So just go try something!
i was thinking about doing that...but wouldnt it be nearly impossible to get into UCLA?? and i already took the assesment test for chaffey. but i started to get iffy. Would it be a bad idea to go to the Los Angeles Film School? or even the Art Institute?
I just feel like all these schools want to rip me off my money.(not that i have any)hah. but thats what im most scared of is the whole money situation.
Wow i know it's been a while since i've been on this but i just want to say that graduation was the best-CLASS OF 08-
In the past months since graduation i was getting the things i needed for college ready like transcripts and stuff but gladfully i'm in college right now and i love it. It is a lot different than highschool but in a way they're so alike. I just hope that it's going the same way for all my classmates of 08 and like i'm planing to fulfill my dreams and goals i hope everyone else does too.
And to Mrs. Velin...
wow what can i say, u are the best teacher anyone can have. I really learned a lot in your class and i had so much fun at the same time.
Who ever is to have you as a teacher in the future is to learn so many things not just for english class but for the rest of their lifes...thanks Mrs. Velin..
